This Wal-Mart at 15th and Range Line did not survive the 2011 Joplin tornado. A friend of this author was in the store when employees took emergency action to gather customers in a "safe" place. He, like Hailey Kelly's dad in Out of the Wind, told the employees that if he was going to die, it would not be in Wal-Mart. Thankfully, he made it home in time to take cover from the storm. |
