The ring in this photograph is located in Cunningham Park. The ring is meant to appear like one of those rubber wrist bands (like the yellow "Livestrong" bands popularized by Lance Armstrong). Rubber wrist bands such as these, with a variety of supportive messages, were donated, distributed, and worn by many residents, survivors, and volunteers following the 2011 Joplin tornado. Behind the exhibit, there is still new construction in the works for Cunningham Park. Get your copy of Out of the Wind before the three-year anniversary of Joplin post-tornado...and spread the word about the book. |
