Today may have been the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy Assassination, but it was also the 2 1/2 year anniversary of EF5 that struck Joplin. Read about it (the tornado, not the anniversary) in my newest book, Out of the Wind.
“In the meantime, the Joplin school district is asking all staff members to check in with their supervisors. A central calling center has been established at North Middle School, and volunteers have begun calling all students in the district.” (RadioNews)
"Amazingly, I immediately get the sense that people’s spirits, in general, are up. How they can look at this and still have smiles is anyone’s guess. It lifts my spirits, though, and I must admit, if neighbors helping neighbors is a result of the storm, I think we will get through this thing. After all, we are Joplin. Eagle strong! I know, right?" (Hailey Kelly)
"At least the sirens have stopped." (Carly Simmons)
"The hail sounds like bacon frying." (Hailey Kelly) "I love the smell of fresh rain!" (Madison Tuttle) "Together, we are Joplin." (Radio News) Want to use you regular AMAZON account to order Out of the Wind? You can do that, too.
