The old shingle roof on the church building was beaten up badly when it entered the ring with an EF5 tornado. The building was on the fringe of the storm, but still had smallish debris pieces pummeled at it. The new steel roof replaced the old, and suddenly there's a two-toned roof on the red brick building at the corner of 26th and Connecticut. All of the reconstruction effort was done, inside and out, while volunteers and church members served the community with disaster relief supplies and manpower in the tornado zone. The church building provides a central hub for the characters in Out of the Wind. Get your copy now. |
