Hundreds of phone calls came to our home telephone number, after having the church's calls forwarded to our house (The church's phone was out of commission.). My wife and I spoke to people from all over the United States and a couple from international locations. I eluded to these phone calls in Out of the Wind. At the same time, during the next several months, the church received letters and donations from individuals, groups, and congregations. | |
While it's often said, especially during the Christmas season, that it's more blessed to give than to receive, receiving love from brothers and sisters in your time of need is never out of season. We are eternally grateful for the compassion of strangers.
