A hard hat symbolizes the danger, the heroism, and the volunteerism that followed in the wake of the 2011 tornado that took the lives of more than 160 of our neighbors in Joplin, Missouri. This hard hat is a part of the small memorial that exists within Cunningham Park, on Maiden Lane. If one is not careful, the small parts of a memorial can be missed, but if one thinks deeply about these things, even the little parts takes on a voice. What does this hard hat say to you? |
