The church's auditorium was so water-damaged, during and after the 2011 Joplin tornado, that pews had to be removed for refinishing, and carpet was promptly removed for replacing. In this picture the styrofoam cups mark the locations of the pew bolts that protrude from the concrete. The lack of furnishing created the space needed for relief supplies, and in the meantime, the roof was replaced. This is all in the background for the story contained in my book, Out of the Wind. |
