In front of the building is a park-like area, with trees and a waterfall feature surrounded by plaques with the names of the agencies that occupied the Murrah. Also visible is a small plot of grass where the children in the daycare were allowed to play (also the place where the young fatalities were laid after they were recovered. Underneath it all was a parking garage.
In this picture, taken in May of 1995, one can observe the effects of the blast - the broken windows and the light streaming through from the north, where the building was completely destroyed.
