On a day like Independence Day, an event like the bombing in Oklahoma City has even deeper meaning. Every time something has threatened even the slightest of our freedoms, a sacrifice has occurred. One hundred sixty-eight lives were lost in this single event, but thousands of other lives were affected collaterally. The only place freedom precedes sacrifice is in the dictionary, whether one refers to the freedom I have through the sacrifice of Christ or the freedoms Americans share through the sacrifice and vision of our forefathers. May we never lose sight that continued liberty requires continual sacrifice. Our union will be unbroken as long as we stick tight to our established foundations. May God bless America...and may America remember God! |
