Tomorrow marks the release of the new PG13 movie, Into the Storm.
Something tells me it won't have the same positive message as Out of the Wind. In rewatching a bit of the 1996 movie, Twister, this afternoon, I realized just how silly the thing really is. Almost 20 years ago, when we saw this in the theater, we were struck by its realism and scariness, but today, after experiencing the EF5 tornado in Joplin three years ago, we can view the movie with a little more critical eye.
Here are five quick observations of how Twister did not depict a real story:
In each of the Pinterest boards below, I've pinned some interesting images and videos that relate to my books, Crumbling Spirit and Out of the Wind. I'm new to the Pinterest game, and I'm not sure of its usefulness to a writer, but I have a couple of ideas for which I may start collecting inspiration. We'll see how this goes.
